Our departure went off without a hitch. Our Saturday, June 11th, meeting time was at 4 am to load bags and the team into one large truck and three family vans. We arrived at O'Hare around 5:15 am and got through security shortly thereafter. The first leg of our flight was to San Juan, Puerto Rico on American Airlines. We were all spread out throughout the plane. Once in San Juan, we layed over for 1.5 hours in the American terminal and ate some lunch. Then we took a small American Eagle flight to Santiago. We were met by the Kid's Alive vans to transport the team and our gear.
